Mycelium grown on enriched sawdust for inoculation of logs or cultivation in sawdust/strawpellets. Large amounts of mycelium in combination with deep kanals for rapid growth is our key to success! Inoculate using our mycelium injector and cover with eco friendly bees wax (drill bits, wax and injectors are ordered separately).
150 gram inoculates 2 35 cm long logs 25 cm diameter or 1 st. 1 meter long.
450 gram inoculates 4–5 . 50 cm logs or 3 pieces of 1 meter long logs of 25 cm diameter or moore.
The Indian oyster mushroom is a dark variety of the normaly pale Pleurotus pulmonarius. The mushroom grows in abundance during the warm part of the year but can grow anytime. Recommended wood for inoculation: birch, beech, alder, ash, willow, maple, oak and popplar. Instructions for cultivation on logs and straw pellets see attached file.
To grow mushrooms on logs with rapid mycelium, you need an 18mm drill, a 6mm drill, beeswax and a wax applicator. You can find this in the shop under "accessories" in the menu.
Choose fresh logs without damage to the bark.
1. Drill 4 cm deep holes with 18 mm diameter and in the same hole 11-37 cm deep with 6 mm diameter to create a channel for the mycelium to penetrate. (drills are included in complete log growing kits and can be ordered separately from the Mushroom House web shop) The holes are drilled at 15–20 cm intervals in a zigzag pattern on the outside of the log and at 5 cm intervals in the surface wood 2 cm from the bark.
2. Fill the holes with mycelium using the Mushroom House's mycelium injector, leave 5 mm for waxing. (separate mycelium injector can be bought separately in the shop).
3. Seal the holes with the beeswax by melting it in a pan (suggested by water bath). Dip the wax applicator and "dab" on the hole. (Wax and wax applicator are included in the log growing kit and can be ordered separately in the webshop).
4. Soak the logs for a couple of days or moisten well with a water sprayer.
5. Place the logs upright in a shady place protected from the wind.
6. Soak/water the logs as needed to maintain moisture content.

Birch, beech, alder, ash, maple, oak, poplar and willow as well as other common hardwoods. Hard woods give slower growth but give harvest over a longer period of time.
Orders placed before 11.00 a.m. are usually shipped the same day. We deliver with DHL and deliveries usually take 2-3 working days. Fungal mycelium is resistant but cannot withstand high temperatures. If the climate exceeds 25, we wait for cooler temperatures before sending the packages in order for your products to arrive to you in the best possible condition.
