Lions Mane mushroom, bear's tooth, pom pom blanc. This beauty goes by many names. Just cut a cross in the plastic about 5 x 5 cm, spray the opening with water several times a day and voila, mushrooms will peek out. For optimal conditions, we recommend you to have the grow block in a humid environment with good air flow. For example, a larger plastic box in which you drilled a few holes on the sides with an associated lid. Fill a 5-10 cm layer of vermiculite or perlite in the bottom of the plastic box and moisten thoroughly. Place the growing block on the substrate at the bottom after you have made an incision in the plastic. Placed bright but not in direct sunlight. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the culture block.
Lions mane is considered by many to be one of the tastiest mushrooms there is with a taste and texture reminiscent of lobster. Cook it carefully with butter, white wine, cream and a good fish stock. Serve the soup with a good bread and a handfull of dill and the guests will cheer with happiness.
