The mushroom house's own fast-growing mycelium is the most efficient technique for log cultivation. The advantage of the fast-growing mycelium is that the colonization of the log or growing bed is faster than with plugs, and thus you get mushrooms within a shorter time frame. For the use of fast-growing mycelium, you need to drill a 12.8mm hole where the mycelium is to be placed. In that hole, you should also drill a 6mm hole that penetrates deeper into the log and that the mycelium can wander freely in. Fast-growing mycelium can be used for logs, growing beds and of course for growing bags indoors.

Good wax is an important component to successful log growing. The wax is applied over the holes after putting in a mycelium plug or fast-growing mycelium. The main task of the wax is to protect the mycelium from drying out and external contaminations, and also forces the mycelium to migrate deeper into the log at once.
