Our best-selling mycelium plugs in a complete kit! A perfect kit for those who want to grow a small, larger amount of Gray oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) on logs. The kit contains three jars of mycelium plugs with 100 plugs per jar. A total of 300 mycelium plugs which are enough to graft / inoculate a 4-6 meter log. It is very easy to use mycelium plugs: Drill holes in the log, tap the mycelium plugs into the holes, seal with wax, done. After that, just wait. Once the mushrooms arrive, you can harvest mushrooms for several years from each log, depending on the mushroom species, the size of the log and the choice of tree species. The kit contains everything you need to get started and you save SEK 94 more than if you were to buy everything separately.

- 225 g borehole wax
- 1 mushroom house's specially made drill for mycelium plug
- 1 wax applicator

Gray oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is one of our most productive mushroom species. It colonizes logs very quickly and gives very good harvests. Tends to fruit (develop mushrooms) in spring and autumn, but also occurs in summer. The taste is rich umami with a nutty element and has a soft, meaty texture that goes well with most dishes. Everyone should grow gray oyster mushroom.

1. Choose fresh logs without damage to the bark.

2. Drill 4 cm deep holes with 8-10 mm diameter in a zigzag pattern with 10 cm between the holes.

3. Plug with the mushroom house's mycelium plug.

4. Seal the holes with borehole wax using the wax applicator For borehole wax; melt it beforehand in a pan through a water bath and dip the wax applicator in the melted wax which you then "dab" on the holes once or twice.

5. Soak the logs for one to two days or moisten well with a water sprinkler.

6. Place the logs standing or lying down in a shady place protected from the wind.

7. Soak/water the logs as needed to maintain moisture content.

Birch, beech, alder, ash, maple, oak, poplar and willow as well as other common hardwoods. Hard woods give slower growth but give harvest over a longer period of time

Fungal mycelium is resistant but cannot withstand high temperatures. If the climate exceeds 25, we wait for cooler temperatures before sending the packages in order for your products to arrive to you in the best possible condition.
